A new color, yellow was added to the sake glass series designed and cut by Katsumi Hayashi, a master of traditional crafts designated and certified by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Traditional Kikko (tortoiseshell pattern) and Hakkakku kagome (Octagonal basket weave pattern) are boldly applied together, featuring dramatically different appearances when being seen from different angles. Tortoiseshell pattern has been familiar since time immemorial in Japan as a symbol of longevity and auspice.
